The UNESCO World Heritage Committee, following its own research, said Iran’s Hyrcanian forests a World Heritage Site and praised the biodiversity of these forests.
World Heritage Spokesman reported Hyrcanian ancient forests of Iran along the Caspian coast, calculated 530 miles.
50 million years old, with nearly 60 species of mammals including the Persian leopard and 160 bird species estimated.
The forest is one of two natural attractions which added to the UNESCO list on Friday. The other one that added to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee is in China.
Iran’s Lut Desert is another natural attraction of Iran that become a UNESCO World Record.
In addition, Iran has 22 other cultural attractions on the UNESCO World Heritage List. For example: Persepolis, Pasargad, etc .
