Bam

Bam is a unique city which is located 190 KM southeast of Kerman. It has an altitude of 1,000 meters. It is molded in the red clay of the Great Iranian Desert.

Being a town of considerable past history, Kerman is not looking to the future only. Its people are proud of serveral ancient monuments of particular originality, among them a group of utilitarian buildings dating from the Safavid period in the 17th century.


Mahan

(Shah Nematolla-e-Vali's Tomb)

Mahan has the finest minarets in Iran. Pictured above is Shah Nematolla-e-Vali's Tomb in Mahan. Within this sanctuary is the tomb of a saintly person, said to have lived for a hundred years, from 1331 to 1431: Shah Nur-ed-Din, Nematolla Vali, poet, sage, sufi and founder of an order of dervishes.
